I also remember a scene about Willy, an alien which turned against his own
people, in which he sets a trap on an alien who hunts down his earthling
sweeheart, but he betrays himself in the process by speaking his native
tongue...when the girl asked for an explanation, he tore off a piece of skin
of his wrist, revealing the greenish lizard skin underneath...as he said "I'm
from their race..." I was maybe as young as you were, Bitteulsse, I was also
utterly disgusted! |
I don't remember that scene.
And I don't remember the poisoned husband either but it hardly suprises me...
As they really WERE power-thirsty bitches , that,
I do remember.

Hi everybody!
How are you today ? The weather is great, it's sunny, and I'm happy, as if
tomorrow I'll go to school... (holidays Weeks-3)
What are you doing today ?

Hello everybody! I feel so nice as we chat in English nowadays on a french
forum. I see the weather interests: in Limoges (87), there was a nice day with
a few clouds today. The temperature increases !

Yeah, after all we've been talking about TOEIC lately, James Bond wants to be
an international agent or diplomat, and we've got some half-british people on
this forum; this topic had to raise from the dead.

Definitely yes ! In this exam (the TOEIC), I had a very good mark, very usual
for my studies ! It wasn't very complicated at all, just a little
concentration and it was perfect.
If anybody here has already passed the TOEIC, can you give us your mark ?
Who has a double nationality here ? It can be interesting.

Well, I've also passed the TOEIC, I had something like 700 or 710. And I've
also passed the TOEFL for my faculty. Well, not exactly the TOEFL. It was a
special version which is valid only for my university, and i had 550, if i
remember. Just for information, the TOEFL is graded on 660 points. It's kind
of the same thing like the TOEIC, it's just not exactly the same exercises.
And I hate english. Hum, no, I go too far. Let's say that I prefer spanish...

I think the TOEIC - or was it TOEFL - has a time of validity: after 2 years,
you'd have to pass it again, to keep your score up-to-date. I'll go for it at
the end of my PhD thesis, because I will leave France after that, for my
post-doc. Probably going to USA or Japan, depends on the labs and on the
possibilities.
